Featured Activity Kit: Canadian Rainbow Food Clings

OISE Library has acquired a bilingual Rainbow Food Cling kit to help guide your students into healthy eating practices. The rainbow food charts is a versatile nutrition teaching tool. Cling pictures of food to a large rainbow food chart to describe the different food groups and portion seizes, using 49 reusable food clings, or have your students make up their own meals by sticking food pictures to two place mats, and evaluate the pros and cons of each to determine the healthiest meal!

You can find a larger image of the Rainbow Food Clings in the OISE Library K-12 Manipulatives Database. The database is designed to help OISE students discover our hands-on learning resources in specific subject areas, such as this activity kit found in “Health & Physical Education: Healthy Living.” You can also view the activity kit in person at OISE Library by visiting the Ground Floor coffee table, next to the Service Desk.
