Masters of Teaching Program: My Reflections — Madia Farid

Name: Madia Farid
Program: Masters of Teaching- Primary/Junior
Year: 2

What drew you to OISE’s program?
The hands on experience accompanied by theoretical framework and learning practical knowledge to implement in the real world after graduation pending a job offer made this program so appealing! I knew the Master of Teaching program was the one for me at OISE because I could not picture myself attending any other graduate school but the best one in Canada.

What did you love about the program and/or your professors and peers?
We have a great, supportive, loving and nurturing family that encourages growth, to take risks and be vulnerable to diversity. The professors inspire us to be critical thinkers and continue to be life long learners. My peers have become my giant extended family, from providing supportive advice to laughs during class to becoming an awesome resource always!

What did you learn about yourself at OISE?
I learned how to enjoy university while balancing a social life at OISE. I feel that OISE is a different institude as it provides a euphoric environment for professional and personal development.
