Concepts in Physics: A Cartoon Approach (call # CR 530 C744) introduces the basic laws of physics through cartoon posters. Twenty posters feature Dr. J, the physics teacher, his son, J. Jr. and their three-legged dog Tripod explaining and acting out basic physics concepts such as Newton’s laws of motion, acceleration, the Doppler effect, and mirrors and lenses. The posters serve as discussion starters where students can see how physics concepts relate to their everyday experiences. Display the posters in class as the concepts are introduced, or hang them year-round.
