New improvements to the Library’s online services and systems

We are very excited to announce upcoming improvements to the Library’s online services and systems.

The powerful Summon Search will be replacing Scholars Portal Search (that green interface you’re likely familiar with) on August 5th, 2011.  Summon Search includes new full-text search features and will pull millions of journal articles and much more into a single, powerful search interface.  While you can continue to search a single database for articles and to search the catalogue for books, you’ll soon be able to do both at the same time!

If you prefer to search individual databases, you may notice that some have a new look.  Databases which up to now have been available through Scholars Portal will soon be available on other platforms.  For instance, PsycInfo and ERIC will be available through ProQuest.  Same databases – new look.

Our amazing team of IT support staff will continue to refine the Summon Search interface throughout August, and welcome your feedback.  Feedback links will be available on the Summon pages.

If you have questions about these changes, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
