With the LPP conference just two weeks away, we wanted to follow-up with some final information about what to expect. There is a lot of information in this post, so be sure to read it carefully.
Please click here or visit the program page of this website for the final version of the conference program. It is current as of August 17, 2017, and a hard copy will be available for you when you register. Any further changes will be announced at the start of the conference.
Presenters are asked to bring their own laptops for presentations. Each room will have a VGA connection to a projector and audio available, if necessary. For Mac users, be sure to bring an adaptor/dongle to fit the VGA cable.
We did not assign chairs this year, but instead have provided time cards in each room. We ask presenters to take turns keeping time to ensure the conference stays on schedule. As a reminder, each paper session lasts 30 minutes: 20 minutes for the paper, 10 minutes for discussion. There is a 5-minute window built into the schedule to allow the next presenter to set up their laptop and/or to allow people to move between rooms.
Thanks to the generosity of the Chaire d’ILOB/OLBI Research Chair at the Université d’Ottawa/University of Ottawa, we are able to provide lunch each day. Lunch will be served in the library. We have been asked to stress that the carpet has recently been replaced, so please be very careful with your food, as we will be billed for any cleaning charges. Otherwise, bon appétit!
WEDNESDAY EVENING GATHERING
For those participants already in Toronto on Wednesday night, we invite you to join us in the downstairs bar at the Duke of York (39 Prince Arthur Avenue). We will be there from 7:30pm.
Please remember to visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta.asp to make sure you have the appropriate forms filled out in advance of your journey. This form is in addition to any visa you may need to enter Canada.
Please be in touch with any questions or concerns you might have. Otherwise, we look forward to welcoming you to Toronto in two weeks!
