You are invited to our upcoming 3-day conference:
Gaa-izhi-izhitwaawaad anishinaabeg: Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning
When: October 2 – 4, 2018
Where: Treaty #3 Territory, Fort Frances, Ontario
Building on the success of last year’s conference, this gathering is an opportunity for educators from across Ontario to build relationships with a common goal: improving teaching within a framework of reconciliation and reciprocal learning.
The conference coincides with Dagwaaginimaawindoosijigewin (Fall Harvest), an annual event hosted by Seven Generations Education Institute. It provides educators, policy makers and academics an opportunity to experience land-based learning and culturally responsive teaching in Treaty #3 territory in Northwestern Ontario. See below for an overview of each day.
The conference highlights the partnership with Seven Generations Education Institute, Rainy River District School Board and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study, University of Toronto).
Conference registration is free. Please click here to complete the registration. Once we receive your registration, we will send you a confirmation along with travel and accommodation information.
Space is limited – please register soon!
