Shamya Phillips

Shamya is a first-year student in the Master of Arts in Child Study and Education Program at OISE (U of T). She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and is studying to become a primary/junior teacher. Shamya’s extensive experience teaching children in the classroom, in summer camps, in after-school programs etc., has driven her passion to become an educator whose practice is grounded by inquiry-based pedagogy. She enjoys yoga, staying active and spending time with friends and family. Shamya ultimately hopes to foster a classroom environment where students are active, passionate and engaged in their educational journey.
