News in Review (September 2010), call number CR 070.195 N558 2010 (no.5), presents some of the top stories from last spring and summer
in greater depth and detail including the long-form census debate, the G20 summit, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the commission investigating residential schools. The News in review series takes stories that were covered in CBC’s The national and provides more in-depth coverage. This resource is a great complement to a civics course by bringing topical stories into the classroom. The series has a resource guide of activities and discussion questions, along with a dvd of the stories.
