Internet Archive blackout today

The Internet Archive will be dark today for 12 hours (9 am EST to 9 pm EST), in protest against the SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) bill, which has been introduced in the US House of Representatives.  This means that links from our catalogue to books hosted on the Internet Archive site will not be available during this time.

The Internet Archive joins sites such as Wikipedia and Reddit in mounting a SOPA blackout tomorrow. Here is the Washington Post’s news article about the SOPA protest: http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2012/01/17/gIQA4WYl6P_story.html
