As the weather cools down, fall is in full swing. This display features resources that can help you teach your students about weather, and the changing seasons.
There are a lot of children’s books featured in the display about fall, including books about the first signs of winter. Leaf Man by Louis Elhert (JUV FIC E33L), The First Red Maple Leaf by Ludmila Zemanm (JUV FIC Z53F), and Feathertop: based on the tale by Nathaniel Hawthorne by Robert D. San Souci and illustrated by Daniel San Souci (JUV FIC S197F) are examples of stories that really help your classroom feel like fall is here. There are also children’s books about the transition from fall to winter. Last Leaf, First Snowflake to Fall by Leo Yarx (JUV FIC Y47La), and Autumn: an alphabet acrostic by Steven Shnur (793.73 S362A) have themes that will tie the seasons together.
There are also some great, seasonally appropriate curriculum resources to keep the class busy. There are resources like Totally Autumn: Holidays and seasonal curriculum units by Sherrill B. Flora (CR 508.2 T718A), and Crafts to make in the fall by Kathy Ross, illustrated by Vicky Enright (745.5 R824CF) are great examples.
There is even a kit called Today’s Weather (CR 551.6 T633), where your student can track how the weather is changing between fall and winter.
