New titles: Nation and The Gryphon Project

Come check out these new young-adult fiction titles at OISE! Each of these titles have a strong heroine character!

Nation by Terry Pratchett – Mau is alone on a desterted Island and believes he is completely alone, until one day he meets Daphne the “ghost girl.” Daphne is the last survivor from the ship “Sweet Judy.” She hopes her father who is a distant cousin of the Royal Family will come rescue her. Until then, she is stuck with Mau and a foul mouthed parot. Once other refugees come to the island, Mau and Daphne start to forge a new nation.

The Gryphon Project by Carrie Mac – Phoenix is very envious of brother Gryphon. He gets to stay out late, and is a sports hero with many fans. Unlike Phoenix he has all his recons left. Gryphon has 3 more chances at life, but Phoenix has only 1. She is shocked when she finds out her very own brother is responsible for one. The siblings’ relationship is strained because Gryphon’s actions become riskier every day. However, after a fatal accident the governing body called Chrysalis refuses to recon him. His accident is deemed a suicide attemt. Phoenix is determined to unravel the mystery of her brother.
