Culturally Diverse Learners:
In this section, teacher candidates, teachers and teacher educators can find a diversity of resources in order to learn more about culturally diverse students and newcomer students to Canada. This section includes print resources (articles & books), Powerpoint presentations, videos, lesson plans, helpful websites & quick tips.
English Language Learners:
In this section, teacher candidates, teachers and teacher educators can find a diversity of resources in order to learn more about how to best support English language learners in diverse classrooms. This section includes print resources and a link to the OISE ESL Infusion Website.
Diverse Teachers:
In this section, internationally educated and diverse teachers can explore resources including policy and curriculum documents, videos about teacher experiences, topic-related graduate theses and relevant articles (we are currently updating this section to make sure it includes a range of helpful titles).
LGBTQ Leaners:
This section is for anyone who is interested in creating a safe space for LGBTQ learners in the classroom, in extra-curricular activities and in the home. It includes selected print resources (articles & books), videos, documentaries, helpful websites and children’s books on a variety of topics.
Intersectionality & Social Justice:
This section outlines a resources that explore intersections between student’s identities [cultural; linguistic; religious; gender; sexuality; political; economic] and their environment – and how these relationships relate to educational development and classroom experiences.
