Dr. Zack Hawes

Dr. Zachary Hawes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology & Human Development at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. Zack has worked with the Robertson Program since its beginnings in 2011. Prior to obtaining a PhD in Cognitive, Developmental, and Brain Sciences from Western University, Zack trained as an elementary school teacher and spent years working with other teachers to design and implement engaging and research-informed mathematics programs throughout Ontario. Zack’s main research interest involves studying the role of spatial reasoning in STEM learning and education. Zack directs the Mathematical Thinking Lab – a close partner of the Robertson Program..
