Seven Generations Education Institute students gave a stellar dance performance at the Sony Centre on May 18th. The performance was the culmination of an entire year of practice, dedication and commitment to Outside Looking In, a program that offers Indigenous youth the opportunity to perform their work on a professional stage in Toronto. It was a remarkable show – and the Seven Generations group was outstanding!
As partners of Seven Gens, OISE’s Robertson Program team was invited to attend the show. We were so impressed and inspired by the level of talent and creativity from every student on stage. We were especially excited to see students from our partner schools from Lac La Croix First Nation, Onigaming First Nation, Pegamigaabo First Nation and Windigo Island First Nation perform the choreography they had been perfecting from the beginning of the school year. We were also excited to see Seven Generations Student Success Program Teacher Aimee Beazley featured in one of the videos shown.
Congratulations to all of the performers and organizers who are part of Outside Looking In! What a great program and what an exciting way to celebrate student success!
